As we move through these unprecedented times of corporate greed and government overreach--from hostile architecture and corporations copying young designers to racial injustice, gender prejudice, and the questioning of basic human rights--we have to stand up and say enough is enough. As creatives, we can design a different future and make an impact through artistic expression. Resistance by design.
With that spirit in mind, we are organizing a group exhibition titled Don't Sit On Me. Opening during Upstate Art Weekend (June 25-29) and running through August 2, the show will feature 13 chair designs (in 2D and 3D) centering around the challenges and injustices we face on a daily basis.
