Colombo is best known for his furniture and product designs, which are characterized by their use of futuristic and organic forms and their innovative use of materials and technology. He was particularly interested in creating designs that were functional, ergonomic, and adaptable to the needs of the user. Colombo's work has been widely exhibited and is held in the collections of major museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. He died in 1971.
